Choosing a Haircut by Face Shape

Your face shape can guide haircut choices, but it should not box you in. Use proportion, hairline, and styling habits to plan a cut that feels natural.

Premier Blends opens November 20, 2026. Shop visits, walk-in service and regular hours described in this guide begin on that date.

Think in proportions, not rules

Oval, round, square, oblong, and heart-shaped faces can all wear many styles. Face shape is a starting point for considering balance, not a list of cuts you are allowed or forbidden to have.

Look at the relationship between your forehead, cheekbones, jaw, and chin. Your barber can use length and volume to emphasize or soften those proportions when that is your goal.

Account for your hairline and texture

A natural hairline, cowlick, or thinning area may matter more than a label for face shape. A fringe, side part, taper, or textured top can be adjusted to work with those details instead of forcing them into place.

Curly, wavy, fine, and dense hair each create their own outline. Bring up how the hair behaves after washing so the finished cut works in real life.

Choose a style you will actually wear

The best haircut is one you can maintain with the time and products you have. Tell your barber how you get ready, whether you wear hats or helmets, and how often you want to return.

A consultation can turn a broad idea such as 'make my face look longer' into a practical plan for length, fade height, and styling direction.
